Hi Phillippe,

It's hard to say without knowing a bit more about your project - but I'd love to start with the following info:

  • How have you published your project, LMS, Web, CD, etc.?
  • Where are you uploading it to test it? You'll want to make sure you test in the intended publish environment vs. testing locally.
  • What browsers are you viewing the course in? Are you testing the Flash or HTML5 output?
  • Have you added the print results button on your results slide or did you attempt to use a custom method to enable this?

If you'd like to share a copy of your project here that would also help. We can take a look at what you've set up and do a bit more testing.

I have run into the exact same issue as Phillippe:  I have configured for "Provide Name on Results Page" and this pop-up window executes normally, but the subsequent new Tab that opens in Windows Internet Explorer is blank.

  • I am testing with a file published for Web, hosted on our SharePoint server (which we use to host ALL of our output files).
  • The browser version is IE 11.
  • I don't recall how the Print Results button was added... I assume through the Result Tools ribbon interface.

Hi there, Brad.  We are investigating an issue where the Print Results feature isn't working for the HTML5 output in Internet Explorer or Edge.  I'm adding your post to our report, and we can keep you updated in this discussion.

In the meantime, do your learners have access to another browser to launch this course?  It sounds like printing results is the way your organization tracks course completion for your learners.

Hey, all. Update 5 for Storyline 3 is ready–check out all the new fixes and features here! 🎁

One of the fixes addresses the issue that Crystal mentioned above where learners couldn't print slides when viewing HTML5 courses in IE11 or Edge.

Here’s where you can install and update Storyline 3. Let us know what you think!

Katie Riggio

Hi, Brad. Ah, apologies there! I thought you were also using Storyline 3. 😅

We released a fix for the same printing issue in Storyline 360 as well; Update 18, Build 3.18.16333.0. Are you still running into some issues after publishing content with Update 18? To check, click the Help tab, then click About Storyline.

I'll be standing by!

Hi, Katie.  I am experiencing the same issues with the blank Print Results page/tab using the Microsoft Internet Explorer browser, exactly the same circumstances as I posted previously.

I am using v3.18.16449.0    ...I don't see any information about "Update" number.

Attached is my test file. Let me know if you would like the SL360 output file.

I should note that when I transfer my Output folder to our web server, I consistently see this error:

Any chance this might be part of the problem?

Katie Riggio

Thanks for working through this one with me, Brad!

I published your test file to Web using Storyline 360 (3.18.16449.0)–here's my output link and a quick Peek of what I saw in IE11/Windows 10. The Enter your name in the field below pop-up window appeared after clicking on Print Results on the Results slide and the following new tab showed my results, ready for printing.

Could you let me know what happens when you try my output link, just in case? Like you, my hunch is that the blank page issue is related to the error you're getting. Have you had a chance to share this message with your IT team or SharePoint administrator to see what's happening with this .json file?

We'll get to the bottom of this together!
