Printing report.html

Mar 04, 2013

Hi!

Does anyone know of code that can be added to a customized report that would tell it NOT to print the title at the top of the page, and web address at the footer? Outside of trying to incorporate an instruction on the last page to make changes for printing from the browser?

I've created a site that will be used globally, and the client hesitates on including additional printing instructions after the users have gone through an 8-Module training course.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Sue,

I found a thread on this topic that you might want to take a look at. You can check it out here. Also, if you need to take a look at Nancy's HTML file, right-click on the attachment and click on "Save link as..". If you just click on the link it may actually try to display in the browser This should help with the title. I'll take a look around and see if I can find anything that'll change the footer.

Good luck with this! Let us know how it turns out.

Thanks!

Christine beat me too it. Just a couple other things to point out. My example shows how to change the report name. If you don't want the name to appear at all you will have to comment out that line of code.

The other thing is that you should always keep a backup of your customized report someplace outside of the published output because each time you have to republish the module, Storyline will create a new report.html file which replaces your customized one.

Thanks Christine. In your second response, there was a post from Michael Culligan in which he created a customizable form in Adobe Acrobat Pro (see below).  Do you know if I could embed such a form in a Storyline file? If so, can you point me to a place where I might be able to easily learn this?

As a work around, I have developed my certificate in Adobe Acrobat Pro, making the document a customizable form. There was a bit of a challenge that results from Quizmaker's inability to attach files (unless I am missing something. To circumvent this limitation, I embedded the quizmaker inside a Presenter document and had the quiz navigate to the last Presenter page (with the Adobe customizable form link) upon successful completion of the quiz.

This workaround makes the form personalized, customizable and printable without printer header/footers.

Nancy, can you re-post the report.html file that shows where you changed the report title? When I open your previous file in notepad, I cannot locate the text "Understanding and Perventing Bullying." Thanks so much!

Our issue is getting the Print results to print. I created the quiz in Presenter 09. We published the training presentation for CD on the web site. We have WEBCT but no LMS nor Moodl. What do we need to do to Print the the Quiz results and to change the results to be in a form of a certificate.

Thanks for any help with this.
