I'm currently making some screen recordings, while giving additional informatie through a microphone (Plantronics Blackwire C310).
When using the built-in Windows soundrecorder, the recording is fine. But when using the Articulate Screenrecorder, parts of the audio are missing. When saying: "You have to click here", i can only hear "You have to lick ere'.
That sounds pretty unusual - sorry for the trouble. Just out of curiosity, when a portion of the audio goes missing, does it happen to correlate to the timing of mouse clicks or keyboard strokes or anything?
Any chance you'd be able to try and record something with an example of what you're experiencing and send it in to us to take a closer look at?
I tried it a couple of minutes ago on my office-desktop (running WIndows XP) instead of my office-laptop (running Windows 7), but that work's fine. But when working on my desktop PC, there a lot of background noises (radio for example).
Could you please tell me if the screen recorder uses a built-in noise-canceller?
I will try to record another piece (on my laptop) when I'm home tonight, to see if there is correlation with typing/clicking and the sounds missing...
Looks like you've got an open case on this issue (00325605 for my reference), and Jayem is working with you. I'll keep an eye on it and hope for a quick resolution.
Just in case someone else also had to deal with this issue:
I trieda couple of things:
1) Recordingin a new Storyline file, that didn't help either.
2) Itried it on a different machine (windows XP instead of windows 7), that worked.
3) Itried it on the 'base' machine (Windows 7) with a different microphone (thebuilt-in laptop mic), that worked.
It seemslike the drivers of the headset (Plantronics Blackwire C310) for Windows 7 are buggy. I started to record mye-learning course on the Windows XP-machine, because there is time-pressure onthis course. For now, I can continue!
I am having the exact same problem and it is really frustrating. It sounds great for a bout 3 seconds and then a tiny drop out ruins the audio. So please keep working on this problem as it forces me to make a Camtasia video and import it in. It's real and someone needs to fix it.

Too bad about the Plantronics headset, but relieved to hear you've found a workaround.
Good luck with the project

Hi Mike,
Sorry to hear it. Are you using the same headset as Martin, also?
