Problem with LMS funtionality

Apr 24, 2014

Hi,

I am having problems with a project that I have published to LMS, details are as follows:

  • 780 slides in total
  • No Quiz
  • Tracking set using number of slides viewed, which is set at 60% (468 approx)
  • Report status to LMS set as: Passed/Incomplete
  • LMS is SABA
  • I am told that SABA supports bookmarking, so I have left the default check mark in the ignore Flash cookie on restart option

The person who has uploaded the course and is testing for me, reports back that when the course is exited, the resume position takes her to a different slide each time. This is causing major problems for my customer.

Can anyone tell me if my settings are incorrect.

Many thanks

David

Thanks Phil,

I don't think I will be allowed to test in an environment outside of my clients' testing facilities. We normally use SCORM 1.2. I know that the SABA version is 5.5. The fact that it works most times is what's confusing to me. This may be a silly question; but could the speed of testing the module have any bearing on things, they go through the module at a very quick pace, totally unlike a learner would. Could this cause some kind of overload on the Resume function, due to the amount of slides (780 in total)?

I have the resume prompt option set too, not sure if that makes a difference?

Appreciate any help on this.

Regards

Dave

It may be the users browser.  If they are using IE, have them check the following setting:  Tools --> Internet Options --> Settings (under Browsing History) --> Ensure that "Check for newer versions of stored pages" is set to "Every time I visit the webpage".  This will force the browser to go back to the web server to deliver the content - rather than pulling the content from the local cache.

+1 SCORM Cloud.  A free account gives you 10 courses (which you can easily chop and change when testing stuff).  Plus SC provides a fair amount of debug/session data you can interrogate.

Thanks Simon,

Does the SCORM cloud offer secure, private testing?

Dave

Scormcloud is the industry standard and Rustici are second to none

Yes, you can generate private logins, the number of which are limited (to 10 IIRC?) on the free version.

Thanks Cathy, I will pass this on, and keep in mind for future reference, as other users experience cache issues with IE in this environment.
