Problem with Video and S3 Upload

Mar 06, 2013

Hey,

I've encountered a curious problem, and hope anyone of you can figure it out.

I've created a course, with an embeded video from a lecture and synronized the presentation slides on the timeline. Everything works out fine in Preview..

If I create a LMS-Export (SCORM) - it works.

If I create a Web-Export - it works localy.

If I upload this Web-Export to Amazon S3 - the video doesn't work. The slides show up according to the timeline, but there's no video. I can't even start the uploaded video directly from S3.

I embeded another video (a video I used in another course before) and it's fine.

The originalfile is a mov  of about 20mins runtime, articulate converts it to a MP4 and a size of 10MB.

Any ideas what I could do to make it work?

Is that solely  a problem with Amazon S3?

Hi Bernhard. Welcome to E-Learning Heroes!

I haven't used Amazon S3, personally, but I was able to find some related threads. Though the content may not be exactly the same, the information and suggestions in the threads may help you with your course.

Amazon S3 problem with viewing video

Hopefully those threads will help resolve this for you. Since you've already done some testing with other output methods, it may very well be an issue with S3. If you haven't already, though, you may want to try uploading to a different server to see if the same thing happens. If you don't have access to another host, I'd be happy to test the file for you. Are you able to share your .STORY file here, or send it to us privately

Thanks!
