So I created a project and published it placing it in dropbox. I published it so it could be easily viewed by my supervisor. She had a quick couple of notes to which I changed. I saved it under a different name and I am trying to publish it. It took less than 30 minutes the first time to publish and now it is on to hour 5 for the corrected version. Why is it taking so long?
Hi Libby - are you publishing it to Dropbox? Try publishing your course locally on your computer first and then once it has finished publishing move the output over to Dropbox.
Even really large projects should not take 30 minutes to publish - let alone 5 hours.
Are you being sure to author and publish your course locally?
Work on your local drive (your C: drive). Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, including file corruption, loss of audio, and other unexpected behavior.
You should also make sure the directory path to your project files and your published output is less than 260 characters (for example C:\Articulate).
Avoid using special characters, accents or symbols in your file names.
Also, If your Storyline software isn't working properly, a simple repair may fix the problem.

And out of curiosity, what kind of specs does your Dell have?

Well I got it published and into Dropbox, but it did take 5 hours to publish. If this isn't normal maybe its this Dell I'm using. I'm a mac girl.
