Hi, we are testing storyline. I have been playing with changing the color of shapes and something bizarre happens. The shape never changes color completely. Just part of the shape changes color. Bug?
That's something I haven't seen before. Are you able to try this on a different shape and see if the same occurs? Was the shape copied or pasted into the slide?
Are you able to share the .story file here, so I can take a look at what's going on?
I tried a different shape and the same thing happened. The interesting thing is that if i add a texture it works fine. Here is a simple 1 page project with the issue.
Thanks so much for the file and extra information. I took a look and I was able to alter the colors of the shape you had, as well as the colors of a new shape. What method are you using to change the colors? Are you going to Format > Shape Styles, or right-clicking on the shape and going to "Format Shape"?
Im right clicking on the shape and then "format shape". i also go to the toolbar at the top, picking the drop down menu "shape fill". i get the same results. it does not fill the shape completely.
If changing the DPI settings doesn't fix the problem, or if your DPI is already set to 96, we may need to see if you can update the software. If you can, try to download Storyline's Update 1 and see if that fixes this problem.

Any other effect i apply, only appears to one part of the shape and not the entire shape.
Good morning Renee,
Sorry it took so long to get back to you. You mentioned earlier that you were testing with Storyline. Are you using the trial version?
Something we can try to fix this is to check your current DPI settings.
Here's some more information:
Storyline will function as expected when Windows is set to 96 DPI (dots per inch).
Storyline does not currently support 120 DPI. If your system is set to 120 DPI, you may experience erratic behavior, such as:
* Elements of the application are misplaced or distorted.
* Objects are misplaced or distorted when previewed or published.
* Zoomed images don't work as expected.
Here's how you can switch to 96 DPI:

If changing the DPI settings doesn't fix the problem, or if your DPI is already set to 96, we may need to see if you can update the software. If you can, try to download Storyline's Update 1 and see if that fixes this problem.
Let me know how it turns out.
Thanks Renee!
Christine
