Problems using fill in the blank interactions in various browsers

Feb 26, 2019

We've created a course (disseminated widely) that includes users responding to questions/items that require a fill-in-the-blank result and then they click a submit button to get the results to get the answer. Last year, we had issues with learners using mobile devices having to click somewhere on the slide before clicking the submit button to get the result to be recognized. Now, we've released a new, similar course, and this behavior is occurring with other browsers, like Chrome. Is Articulate aware of this? Any plans to address? I'm going to take our course down and replace fill-in-the blank with direct user selections, but it would be great to have the fill-in-the-blank option.

Hi Lu,

Our team is aware of an issue where Numeric and Text Entry questions will not set the value when the virtual keyboard is still visible in Safari and Google Chrome browsers for iPads/iPhone (iOS). Is that where you're running into this, or do you also see it on desktop browsers?

Clicking on the slide would hide the keyboard, or using the keyboard button to hide it would also help.

I'll add this discussion to the report our team is tracking and share updates with you here as they're available.
