Problems with audio in LMS

Jul 01, 2018

Hi! About two years ago, I created a course in Storyline 2 for a volunteer organization that I am a member of. I uploaded the Storyline course, as well as some PowerPoints other people had done, to a Moodle LMS.

The organization is now using the course I created to help training a certain classification of volunteers. This training occurs once a year for people who volunteer with our organization on an ongoing basis, and it happens right at the very beginning of the volunteer relationship for new volunteers.

Since I am in the classification of volunteers that needs to take the training, and have been volunteering on an ongoing basis, I recently had to take the training online, like everyone else. So I logged into the LMS and launched the course. In the past when I have done this, I just left the Storyline course the size it was when it opened, but this time, I decided to maximize the screen. To my surprise, once the course was maximized, the audio didn't work! I backed out of it and reopened the program without maximizing it, and the audio worked!

I went back in this morning and maximized the course on the screen. This time, the audio worked, but certain other features, which had always worked before, didn't work this time.

Has anyone ever encountered this?

Hi there, Mary.  I haven't heard of this behavior, and I don't see any reports that match this issue off the bat.  What browser are you using to access the course?  Is this happening in multiple browsers?

If you can share the .story file and the link to the content in your LMS, that would be really helpful.  If you need to keep your content private, feel free to upload it to us here.  Do you know the last time the course was updated and published?

Thanks!

Crystal, thanks for replying. Sorry it took me a few days to get back with you. I wanted you to see how the e-learning course was acting from within the Moodle LMS that we are using, and I had to clear it with someone before I could set you up to give you access.

As far as the browser I use to access the course, I was using Microsoft Edge, but I tried it in Google Chrome and Firefox, and it did the same thing.

I set you up as a user in our LMS, then I used Camtasia to create a screen recording showing you what the module does when it is run from the LMS not maximized (behaves properly) versus maximized (does not behave properly).

I look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Kathy,

Thanks for those extra details! I appreciate you setting us up as a user in your LMS.

Would you mind sending us the steps for how we can access the content, as well as the Camtasia screen recording, by clicking here

Submitting that form should give you a case number. Then, let us know your case number so we can follow along!
