Problems with layer display in the result slide for quizes

Jul 29, 2014

Hi,

I having some problems with my result slide in some quizzes.

Namely, I would like to display a layer called 'success' ( which says 'congratulations, you passed') when result score is greater than pass score and to display 'failure' layer ( ' you did not pass') when results score is less than pass score.

This has been working well with most of my quizze but not for last two I have made - so basically if you fail the first time, it displays failure layer correctly, but if you pass next time the same layer stays instead of displaying 'success' one.

I am not sure what is the problem as i have cross checked everything and can not find a problem, especially given the fact that other quizzes work fine with the exactly the same set up of triggers and layers,

Please help!

many thanks in advance.

Hi Maja and welcome to Heroes!

You mentioned that all the triggers and layers are the same - but I'm curious to know if you created your own custom results slide or used the one that Storyline can insert for you that comes with pre-made triggers for the success/failure layer? If not, could you try to add that one in and assign the appropriate quiz questions to it and let us know how that behaves? Typically with an issue as you've described it, my first thoughts would be that something is off in terms of triggers and their order or the revisiting properties for the slides themselves. For more information on trigger order, please review this article and for information on how slide revisiting properties are determined you can review this one.

If you're still having difficulty after checking into those elements, please post a copy of your .story file here for us to take a look at so we can see what else may be causing this behavior.
