I don't know if anyone has experience of this but I'm building some complex branching and Storyline is putting in links where they don't exist on the Story view. This is quite confusing and when I check and double check the links (represented by blues lines) aren't actually there.
It's also affecting the layout of the course structure - slides appear to be below other slides where they don't actually follow on.
I'm not sure if there's something I'm not aware of or if this is a glitch with the system - does anyone have any experience of this?
The lines that are incorrect, were they ever tied to that slide/scene and removed? If so, that would at least make some sense as to why Storyline is trying to draw the connection, but obviously the fact that they're being drawn at all when not connected isn't expected behavior.
Does this seem to happen only in this specific project?
If so, I would recommend checking the location of your project files, Try to make sure you're working locally, and not from any other external storage or partitions.
Work on your local drive (your C: drive). Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, including file corruption, loss of audio, and other unexpected behavior.
You should also make sure the directory path to your project files and your published output is less than 260 characters (for example C:\Articulate).
Avoid using special characters, accents or symbols in your file names (this includes spaces and underscores).
Additional information regarding "Naming Files, Paths, and Namespaces" in Windows operating systems can be found in the following Microsoft article.
If that doesn't help, it might be an issue with the project file itself. A really quick way to figure out if this is an issue of corruption would be to import the existing content into a new, blank project.
Thanks for the reply - much appreciated. As a matter of fact I was working from a network drive, so I will save the project locally and see if this is a causal factor.

HI Luke,
Sounds good!
Let me know if moving the files to your hard drive doesn't solve the problem and we'll take a closer look at what's happening.
Have a great day :)
