Sorry to hear you're running into some issues with the preview in Storyline 3. We recently made a fix on the latest update and it could be related.
Are you on the latest version of Storyline 3? If not, you can get the most recent version here!
I am on the latest version - it is just really slow and does not translate into correct timings when you go to publish
