Problems with Review Quiz option

Nov 06, 2013

I want users to be able to review the quiz when they have passed to see what they missed.  However, I don't want them to be able to review the quiz if they failed because then they'll se the correct answers.  So all I did was cut and paste the Review Quiz button from the Results Slide layer to the Success layer.  However, now when you Review the Quiz Incorrect shows up on the bottom of all the quiz question slides and then at the end it says that you have a 0 on the quiz.

Hi Andrew,

You'll want to check the slide properties for your quiz slides and ensure that they're set to "Resume saved state" or "Automatically decide" on a revisit. If they're set to reset to initial state regarding a revisit, while reviewing, it may show them as being unanswered and therefore incorrect.

If you're still experiencing the behavior after checking your slide properties, are you able to share your .story file here with us? If you'd prefer to share it privately you can also share it with us here.

Thanks Ashley.  I found the solution and thought I'd share it in case others have this problem.  I figured that was the problem so I changed the slide properties from Initial State to Automatically Decide.  However it still wasn't working.  It took me awhile to realize the problem was with the Question Bank.  I was using a Question Bank for the quiz and I guess you need to edit the question bank, not just the questions.  When you edit the questions that the question bank draws from, it doesn't update the question bank.  Another thing I realized along the way is that the order of triggers matters.  I wanted users to have the option to go back through the course content and restudy if they fail the quiz.  However, the quiz was not resetting.  I had the set triggers to Jump to Slide and Reset Results.  However, the Reset Results trigger must come first otherwise it won't work.

Anyway, troubleshooting can sure be frustrating, but also a great way to learn.  Thanks again for all the great support on this forum.
