Problems with Thai in course GUI

Has anyone used Thai characters in the course interface with success?
It does not work very well for me.
Previous and Next button looks like this:
It looks like this in the Notes tab:
Any known workaround for this?

It looks like maybe Jennifer has had some success using Thai. Might be worth a shot to contact her...
In the meantime, please feel free to request Thai as a supported language.
