probs with audio sync, drag & drop and resizing on iPad

Apr 08, 2014

Hello guys,

we have some problems with storyline and ipad visualization.

we have trouble syncing audio, drag n drops don't work properly and most important of all - the resize won't work. we are using a moodle platform, version 2.4.1.

version iOS 7.1.

attached is a screenshot of display settings of the course on the platform.

has anyone faced similar problems?

thank you!

Hi Prady and welcome to Heroes!

Can you tell us a bit more about your audio sync and drag/drop difficulty, such as what's occurring vs. what you'd expect to occur and if these issues are only appearing on the iPad?

In regards to the resizing issue in Moodle, we've had reports of Storyline content not displaying properly in an LMS that launches the content in an iFrame and I've heard from a few Moodle users that there are also discussion on the Moodle boards about fixes or newer versions that are helping with the issue. Our team is looking into it as well, but since every LMS can have a different set up it's best if you can check in with your Moodle team too.

HI Ashley,

thank you for your reply!

the audio and graphics are not exactly aligned.. the images on the screen load a few seconds after the corresponding audio. i guess this is also related to the internet connection / file size / n layers composing one screen.

drag n drop : i have to keep dragging the option to the answer box several times. the option just remains fixed and its difficult to drag it.

i will check on moodle forums as well.

in any case, should you have any solution that i can try out, your suggestions are more than welcome.

thank you!

Hi Prady,

In regards to the audio/graphics it sounds like internet speed and some general performance issues of mobile Safari may be the culpritWe also recommend testing HTML5 content in the Google Chrome desktop browser—which provides the best HTML5 support—to establish the baseline performance of your content (you'll want to publish and then use the story_html5.html link to test it). Then compare your Google Chrome experience with mobile Safari. Depending on the results, you may need to adjust the design of your course to achieve better performance in mobile Safari.

For the drag and drop, I'm still not following - it's one item that you can get to stay dropped and at times you can't drag it at all? Are the items missing or just not working as expected? I'd be happy to take a look at this one and see if there is something else happening that I'm able to determine a fix for, or if needed report it to our QA team. You can share the one slide or even a sample slide here in the forums by using the paper clip  icon at the top of the reply box.
