Product feature request - Storyline 2+ - automated progress tracking and graphical display

In technical software training a typical course is going to be branching and complex, not following a linear path. Creating a fool proof progress meter tracking slides viewed % and remaining % with users able to repeat slides, jump topic to topic and back again, is ridiculously time consuming with the need for complex nested triggers and variables on each slide to prevent double counting.

Can Articulate please build in standard functionality into Storyline to automatically track progress and enable use of this via a reported variable? 

Would be a significant win for the product to handle this, as this is time consuming.
