Progress-bar doesn't show the right percentage of reviewed course.

May 09, 2014

Hi every one,

I created a project in Articulate Storyline and I uploaded it to Learning Claud. My project has some chapters and also a quiz. The problem is if someone follows a part of the course the progress doesn't show the right percentage of reviewed course. It just shows 0% or 100%.

I don't know what I did rang. Could somebody help me with this please?

Thanks in advance!

Hi A B,

Welcome to E-Learning Heroes!

Have you had success with this in the past with this particular LMS with Storyline projects? It may depend on how the LMS interprets the progress of the course, or reads the data that Storyline sends

It does look like the status is updating correctly ("In Progress"), so it may just mean that the server isn't able to receive incremental data from the information sent from the Storyline project.

However, if you have seen this work in the LMS in the past, can you tell us if you're using different reporting or tracking options in this project? For example, are you tracking by a results slide or number of slides viewed?

Hi A B,

Thanks for getting back to me!

For most any LMS-related issue, this blog post is the place to begin.  You also want to be certain that you are packaging your published content properly for your LMS.  Also, be certain that you have contacted the Support Team for your LMS, since they are best-equipped to tell you what specific features are supported and whether or not you should be able to use the percentage display with a Storyline course..

If you wind up empty-handed after reviewing the links above, I would next recommend comparing the performance of your content at SCORM Cloud.  If you cannot reproduce the problem there, this is likely an LMS-specific issue, and you will want to generate debug logs and supply them to your LMS Provider for additional troubleshooting.

Let us know how it goes! :)

Best,

Christine
