Your idea is doable, but I think screen real estate will be your limiting factor: you only have the height of your slide to work with; and if you use space on your slide, you'll have less for your content. You could of course remove the menu/notes/glossary from the player to increase space for the content. (Personally, I hate taking courses that don't let me navigate, so if I removed the menu I'd probably add navigation to this graphic, e.g. so a click at the top of it takes the viewer to an early slide in the scene, and a click on the lower parts of the graphics takes the viewer to later slides in the scene.)

Then, simply move your person/whatever downwards on each slide.
