Hi Phoebe! I know that's a scary feeling when you can't save your work. First, if Storyline crashes or closes without saving your work, it's likely that the autorecovery feature saved a recent edit before the program closed.
Here's how to check:
Open this folder in Windows Explorer: %appdata%\Articulate\Storyline
Scan the contents of this folder for a file that starts with the name of your project. If you find one, copy it to your desktop. If you find more than one, copy the latest version to your desktop.
Change the file extension of the copy on your desktop from *.tmp to *.story.
Double-click the file to open it in Storyline.
If you still have the program open (I realize it's been a few hours), can you save the project with a slightly different name? Are you saving directly to your C: drive?
