Providing feedback for all quiz options that were incorrect

Feb 19, 2020

Hi there-

I am a newbie to Storyline 360, so I apologize that I don't know all of the lingo and will need any responses to be in layman's terms! :)

I am attempting to input knowledge checks throughout a training course, and for each response that is incorrectly selected/not selected, I need to be able to provide feedback.

The way our current training works, which is what we are trying to replicate (existing is owned by a third party), is if a user selects the wrong - or only partially correct (e.g., if they choose 1 of the 2 correct responses) - response, then they are told to select the flashing button that appears to each of the responses that was incorrectly selected/not selected, and additional feedback is provided as to why that response is or is not correct. The flashing buttons ONLY appear when the users response is not the correct one.

Sorry if this isn't explained well, but hoping someone follows what I'm asking and is able to help!

I've attached a screenshot of one example from our current training where this occurs.

Hello McKenzie and welcome to E-Learning Heroes :)

Thanks for contacting us to share what you would like to create.

Do you need the extra step of the user clicking for feedback or what if it just displayed for them automatically?

This feature is built into Storyline 360 questions. You can read more about it here. That document also includes information about the question types that will allow choice-level feedback.

Since you mentioned you were new, be sure to check out all the amazing resources here as well.

Thank you so much for your response. Unfortunately, it looks like the question types that allow the "By Choice" feedback work only when there is 1 correct choice. However, in our examples, it is when there are multiple correct answers, and all must be selected in order for it to be "Correct." However, when the user selects one or more of the incorrect responses, we want there to be a trigger to force them to review something next to each incorrect choice to explain to them why their selection was wrong.

Any advice?
