Publish not creating story_html5.html file
Feb 10, 2020
I have a new colleague who just downloaded Articulate 360 last week. When they publish (modern player, html5, for web) Storyline only creates the story.html file. It does not create the story_html5.html file like it does for the rest of our team. We need the story_html5.html file because that is what we have standardized on in our LMS, so we cannot just use the story.html file. If helpful, we are saving in the default "My Articulate Projects" folder locally if helpful. Has anyone experienced this?

The classic player can publish in HTML5 and/or FLASH. Thus, it starts from the story.html file, and then the program switches to the story_html5.html file when it decides that is needed.
The modern player only publishes in HTML5. Thus, it has no decision to make, so it doesn't need multiple launching files. All the usual HTML5 info is in the story.html file.
Thus, you'll either have to publish with the Classic player or adjust your LMS. (The former is easier -- for now. But, thinking long term, it might be better to adjust your LMS now, in case the Classic player ever goes away.)
Thanks Judy. That makes sense. We'll have to adjust our file naming in the LMS in the future. For now, we will just rename our file to the older name when we publish.
A little more to add on here, Articulate changed what files publish as a result in one of the latest builds, see here from the staff:
