Publish Problem - Image Related

Apr 29, 2014

Hi everyone!  This is my first post here, and I spent some time poking through previous posts, but didn't quite see what I was looking for.

I have a publish problem with a 41 slide project.  Because of our peer review process prior to publishing to LMS, I have published to Web.  The entire project will publish, however many of the graphics are not publishing correctly.

For example:  The top portion of the graphic will show, but the bottom 75% of it will be entirely greyed out.  I have deleted all files, attempted to republish, restarted, attempted to republish again, and no matter what... the graphics are still grey on the bottoms.

Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this?  I was thinking that perhaps it was because I had layers of black and white graphics fading into layers of colored ones, however, two of the slides do not contain that particular layering affect.

Any help will be greatly appreciated - thanks!!

Hi Faith and welcome to Heroes!

I'm sorry to hear about the issue you're experiencing with your files while publishing. First, I'd want to check that you're working on local project files and publishing to a local drive as described here.   If it seems to only be this file that is causing you difficulty, you could also try to import the project into a new file as described here.   You'll also want to check that when testing your published file, you're testing it within the intended environment as testing it locally could cause elements or feature of your content to fail.

Please let us know how it's behaving after checking into those items above, and if you're still having difficulty we'll want to take a look at your .story file.

Hi

I am also struggling...When I publish a project to CD and want to then email it, it gives me an error message..."An error has been encountered while preparing  the email. Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client (Microsoft Outlook) cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please install or configure your mail client as the default mail client"...How do I do this?

Regards

Corle'

Hi Corle,

Is Outlook the mail client installed on your computer - or do you not have a mail client installed and instead use something like Gmail or Yahoo mail? The email option within the Storyline publish successful window like below:

Will refer to your installed email client, so if you're using a web based email service, you may want to instead choose "Zip" and create a zipped file of your published output which could then be attached to an email you'd send.
