"Publish Successful" Dialog Box does not Appear when I Publish
Sep 05, 2013
Greetings:
First post, so please excuse any newbie mistakes.
I've been using Articulate Storyline for about 6 weeks now. Up until two days ago, whenever I publish, I would get the Publish Successful dialog box (from which I could generate a .zip) file for our LMS. However, now when I publish, the Publish Successful dialog box no longer appears (and I cannot generate a .zip file). When I start the publishing action, it gives the publishing status, but when it's finished, it goes right back to the Publishing dialog box. Weird.
The normal, unzipped, output is indeed publishing, but I need the .zip file.
I've rebooted, googled articles, shut down all apps except for Storyline, but nothing helps and I can't find anything on the Web that addresses this issue. Have I unintentionally clicked something that hides the Publish Successful dialog box?
Thanks in advance for any help!

Hi Jim and welcome to E-Learning Heroes!
It definitely sounds like odd behavior - are you able to get the publish successful box if you try to publish another way than LMS? Say, publish to Web? You may want to conduct a simple repair of your Storyline software to see if it reappears. You may also need to repair the supporting Microsoft software, so I've included those directions as well.

Tried all your suggestions, but no luck.
However, after all that, I figured it out. I was exceeding the 256 character limit imposed on path and file names by the Windows operating system. I shortened the names of a few folders, got under the 256 character limit and everything worked fine.
Thanks!
Hi Jim! Glad that you figured it out and got it working Thanks for sharing your solution.
Oh, and welcome to E-Learning Heroes!
Hi Jim,
We ran into a bundle of problems using lengthy file names and publishing to extended networked paths. Glad to hear you figured it out quickly. We racked our brain for several days before discovering the solution.
Never any fun to do it that way, Pat! Always feel free to ask us here or connect with our Support team. We're ready and happy to help!
