Published LMS file not sending completion data to LMS

Aug 04, 2016

I recently created an eLearning whereby the learner can pick and choose which slides they need to view.  There is no quiz.  In the reporting and tracking area, I selected the following in the Reporting tab:

- Report status to LMS as Completed/Incomplete
- everything else is left as is

In the Tracking tab, I have the Track using number of slides viewed set as only 2.

For some reason, it is not sending a completion status to my LMS when I viewed at least 2 slides.

Help please!  Do I need to select a different SCORM 2004 edition perhaps?  I noticed the default is 2nd edition.

Hi, Milene -- Thanks so much for reaching out here! May I ask if you have had a chance to test how your course performs when tested via the SCORM Cloud? You may also want to check out this information on How to Troubleshoot Your LMS with SCORM Cloud. And perhaps you could share the name of the LMS provider you use in case there are others here in the community who use the same service and can share experiences they've had, as well.

Hi Christie- thanks for your response.  Our LMS vendor is Silk Road.  Their support staff has been working with me as well.  They used a SCORM debugger and have found the eLearning is not sending a completed status when finished.  I suppose I could try adding a completion quiz question of some sort that submits for completion, but would really like to get to the bottom of this issue.

If the tracking is set up correctly for only two slides it should send complete to the LMS, it is more likely this is not being picked up by the LMS.

I would follow Ashleys advice and test in scormcloud if completion is not set then you need to raise a support case with Articulate, however if it is set in scormcloud then it really is your LMS at fault.

After speaking with Silk Road, they too got a completion status passed along from my eLearning, but it did not return a Success status.  They also did some research with Articulate FAQs.  Long story short, we determined that when you publish, the Passed/Incomplete status needs to be selected in the LMS Reporting section of the Reporting tab for a both a success status and completion status to be reported to the LMS.  That did the trick!
