Published project running very slowly in Internet Explorer 8

Mar 10, 2016

Hello,

I've created a learning module with Articulate Storyline 2. Project experiences sluggish / very slow loading times when viewed in IE8. Unfortunately client can only use this browser and version.

The project runs perfectly in other browsers. In the publish settings i am including html5 and mobile versions. it is also being tracked, plus scorm 1.2.

The slow loading times appear when clicking through slides. they will hang with the loader for 5-10 seconds before appearing. the overall published file size is 7mb.

Any help or advise on this issue would be greatly appreciated.

thanks,

Brian

Hi Christie, Thanks for the reply. I tried the repair that you linked me to but that didn't help with the issue. Also I had my client update their flash player but the problem persists. We've also tried hosting on various servers, but when testing in IE 8 the loading times are just unworkable (10 seconds per page). Any guidance would be appreciated.

Hello Brian,

we also had some issues with Internet Explorer. One thing I changed was to set the layer properties to "allow seeking:No" since we discovered that the preloading loaded to much and caused Internet explorer to crash. Even if it is not the exact same problem I hope it may be some help.
