Publishing a course

Hello,
in the online guide, I read that it is possible to create a LINK to send to the user to access to the course.
My problem is this one: I created and published a Storyline course and I publishing pressing CD and then zip, because I would like to send by email and by zip the course to the user.
If the user cannot unzip this course, is there anyway to create a LINK to send to the user directly to access the course.
The user has not an iPad.
Many thanks,
Alice

Hi Alice , and welcome to the community.
Yes.
You compile the course to "Web", and then upload the course to something like DropBox or tempshare, and have them click on the file called story.html.
Hope this helps, and once again welcome to the forums.
Bruce
Hi Bruce,
really many thanks for your precious and useful help!
I will preoceed based on tempshare how you suggested.
Thanks once again,
see you soon,
Alice
Hi Bruce,
could you be so kind to help me also if I am looking for a long-term solution to publish and share my Storyline course?
Because I learned that the link generated by tempshare expires after 10 days it is posted.
For example, if I need two months?
Many thanks again,
Alice
Hi Bruce,
sorry but I tried to upload my file.zip )it is a 7 MB file.zip) into tempshare but when I press "Upload this file" anything happens. Error on the page I read.
I created this file.zip by publishing on web my course.
Hi Alice,
I am not sure about the ‘tempshare’ but you can upload the files on DropBox.
DropBox will not allow uploading the folders on the server, so you have to create folders and then upload the files in the respective folders. If you are publishing using web option then there will be only two folders.
After uploading, you can share the publish URL of ‘story.html’ file to the users.

Shailesh
And of course, the files will remain there permanently until you are not deleting those.
Hi Shailesh,
thanks a loto for your prompt answer.
I use Articulate storyline on my job and my company doesn't allow me to use Dropbox because our policy.
So, no problem for the permanent solution, it is great also the tempshare solution.
I created this file.zip by publishing on web my course, following the guide on tempshare.
BUT when I tried to upload my file.zip (it is a 7 MB file.zip) into tempshare and I press "Upload this file" anything happens. Error on the page I read.
I cannot obtain the URL from the file.zip.
Do uou have any idea about it?
many thanks,
regards,
Alice
Hi Alice,
No getting any clue, I have tried tempshare and every time it worked perfectly fine.
May be security related issue at your end or something else, not sure.
Strange that tempshare is allowed in your company but not DropBox.

Shailesh
Hi Alice,
Sounds like you're probably behind some kind of firewall. Are you able to upload the course to Tempshare using a different browser?
Another option would be to publish your course for CD, and have users open it with the launch_story.exe file. Here's how to do that.
Hi Alice,
If the issue is still not resolved then you can try another solution of public URL from SCORM cloud (http://scorm.com/scorm-cloud/share-content-from-scorm-cloud/).
You can publish SCORM package and uploaded it on SCORM Cloud. You can create public invitation which will generate a URL which you can share with your users.
While accessing the URL, it will ask user for email address which help to track the information of the course if required.
Kindly let me know if you want to go with that approach, will message the details for the same.

Shailesh
Hi there,
I just knew there is a Tempshare. I think it is really cool if I need the draft to be reviewed by the clients in some emergent situations.
However, I am also very concerned about the security issue. Like, I know my clients will see it, but how do I know who else will be supposed to open up the link, even by accident and take a look? Does the Articulate Company have something to keep it confidential for us who post the drafts?
Does anyone have any idea about it?
Thanks a lot!
Hi Phoebe,
Only those that you send the link to should be able to access the test content, as you'll see described here: Tempshare generates a non-guessable URL to your project that you can then access from your iPad. Content is hidden from search engine indexing so it stays private while you test. Also, the Tempshare link will only be active for 10 days, so that also helps with security.
Also, although Tempshare was created by an Articulate staff member and we offer it as a method to test your content, it's not an officially supported Articulate product.
