Publishing and playing for tablet devices

Jan 23, 2013

I recently published for the web an interactive piece that our sales folks can use.  What I'm not sure of is how do I get the output onto my iPad and how do I then get it to launch?

Good info but it didn’t quite answer my question, which was vague.  I did select all of the right radio buttons to allow device viewing.  What I need to know is; is there a way, other than loading the output on a web server, to get it on my iPad?  I’m guessing that if I put the entire output folder in dropbox it would play?

Hi Bill,

Sorry about that, I misunderstood. Yes, you will need to have your content hosted in order to have it available on the iPad. I've heard that some people have been able to use Dropbox, but I've also heard of many issues in doing so. This is simply because Dropbox is really used for storage and not as a host. You can certainly try this, but in all honesty, it wouldn't be my first choice.

I would suggest a web server, or an LMS. There are a few threads on the forums where others have shared their experiences with their hosts, you could certainly jump into those conversations or ask for some feedback for your project. For additional feedback, you could try posting your question over in the Building Better Courses section of the forums.

Another option would be to use Articulate Online. There's a 30 day free trial, as well, so you'd have plenty of time to test it out and see if it suits your needs.

If you you have any other questions, just let me know!

Thanks,

Christine
