Publishing courses for sale

Jun 03, 2013

I'm just getting started on all this...so please forgive me in advance for anything dumb...

My very small company (three people) works with local churches around the country and we have about 50 webinars we are looking to convert to e-Learning courses. We want to be able to sell these to pastors / laity leaders.

I have the first course done and ready to publish. What is the best way for me to get this to our web person? [Save as a zip file and email it to her?]

What do you think I need to let her know in order to upload this to our website for sale?

I'm very open to any and all help you can give us. Thanks!

Hi Ken,

If you don't need to track course completion for your users, then web publishing is a good option. To learn how to publish Storyline content for web distribution, click here.

After publishing, do any of the following:

  • Use the FTP button on the Publish Successful dialog to upload the published files to a web server.
  • Or, use your own FTP client to upload the published files to a web server.
  • Or, give the published files to your server administrator to upload to a web server.

When your published files have been uploaded to a web server, provide users with the URL for the story.html file.

If your web person can give you the FTP information, you can upload it yourself using the options above. If they prefer to upload it themselves, just publish and zip the published files. You can email these files and have your web person extract and upload the content to the web server.

I'm afraid I cannot help with the selling portion, but hopefully this information will get you started with placing the content on the server.

Good luck!
