Publishing freeze in SL2

Jan 15, 2019

Interesting problem I started having. SL2 freezes when publishing a file. This has been happening with older projects. I can build a new project and it works fine. The problem seems to be coming from the audio within the file but this never was an issue in the past. I have removed SL2 and did a clean install and this hasn't helped. Curious if anyone has had this issue and how they fixed it? I can take the file that freezes during publishing (or preview), and can have a coworker publish it with no problems. I'm running an i5 laptop with 8 GB of RAM so I have enough power. The project size doesn't seem to matter either.

Hey Mike,

Thanks for reaching out and letting us know what you are experiencing and the troubleshooting that you've done so far.

Interesting that you can publish on another computer and that you are unable to replicate in a new file.

Hi Leslie,

I have tried importing the project into a new file and get the same problem. Everything is local too.

This has been a real head scratcher. Just a thought... is there anything from an IT security perspective that could interfere with publishing? Our IT dept. did something a while ago that affect SL2 when it starts. We get a script error on the opening page of SL2 that says it can't run the following: http://articulate.storyline.s3.amazonaws.com/a79e232d2319d057466679293a1748a2fc45a48f9f1504d5a8f869f65c7357e9/ns.js and do we want to continue or not? If we don't say yes SL2 runs a bit buggy. My whole work group gets this but those running Win 10 don't seem to be having problems but those of us still on Win 7 do. It all seems to be centered around audio within the project. When we remove the audio, we can publish the project. We thought maybe we had a corrupted audio file but it can freeze at various times. Most audio files we use are either MP3's or .wav at 44100.
