Publishing issue in LMS

Jun 15, 2015

Hi, I am new to Storyline.  Have utilized Articulate Studio for several years and never had a problem publishing to our LMS.  With Storyline, I am getting the following error message:  Could not load the file 'story_000_content/data. swf.  I contacted the LMS and they stated it sounds like an error with Storyline.  As stated above, I never had any problems with publishing Studio content.  This is my first Storyline...any ideas?

Hi, C Michel -

Welcome to the community! Sorry to hear you are having difficulties, but there are a few things I would like to ask you to try so we can rule out some common issues.

Please make sure you are working locally as described here, and you may want to try importing the file into a new file. If you are still having issues, you might want to try to repair Storyline.

In addition, when it comes to LMS testing, you will want to test your published output in the SCORM Cloud, as it is the industry testing standard. It might also be helpful for you to check out the following LMS-related articles:

Thanks for the information. I had actually already utilized the SCORM cloud based on information I found in the Articulate community and it ran great. I did resolve the problem...my LMS only supports the Pass/Fail option - I believe I had left the player on the default setting (which is on Pass/Fail). Once I changed this to Pass/Fail...it worked beautifully!

Loaded the update (#5) for Storyline 2 yesterday.  Now, my project that was working in the LMS won't work.  It works in the Scorm Cloud great.  I have now tried so many variations, I'm just getting frustrated trying to figure out why it is not working.  Any ideas as to why it would work and now doesn't after installing the update?

Hi, C -- Hmmn, good question: can you please re-verify that you are still working locally as described here, and you may want to try importing the file into a new file. If you are still having issues, you might want to try to repair Storyline.

If issues persist, you may want to contact your LMS, or you may feel free to use this link to submit a case with our Support Team for further investigation.
