Publishing issues
Mar 23, 2016
Hello,
Hoping someone can help.
I've created a course in Storyline2 and have no problem previewing the entire project (works fine). However when I go to publish the project it stops part way through the publish and asks me to submit an error report.
I have published other modules fine in the past.
Any ideas? I'm not even sure where to start.
Thanks.
Chris.

Your likely running out of RAM especially if the course has a lot of images or content. Try publishing from another machine preferably one with more spare memory.
Hi Chris!
If you are only having difficulty with one project, you may want to try importing the slides into a new file.
If you are having trouble publishing multiple files, I would suggest a repair of your software.
Hi Chris
check the length of the file name is under 256 characters and there are no special /wildcard characters in the file name.
also are you publishing locally? Not to a network drive.
Hi all,
Thanks for your suggestions.
Ram wasn't an issue for me this time but I did check it out so appreciate that advice.
The file name was under 256 characters and didn't include wildcards so that's fine.
I did an import and the problem persisted. So I started a new project and copy/pasted my scenes in one by one and published each time (painful I know!). I was able to identify the scene causing the crash and eventually the specific slide.
The slide was a screen recording which included a scroll bar animation. I can only think that the animation was causing the problem as it is the only scroll bar animation in my project. Might be worth articulate investigating further.
Many thanks.
Chris.
Hi Chris!
If you feel that it is something we should take a look at, you are welcome to share your original file for us to take a look. You can share it here in the forums via the Add Attachment button in your reply or you can share it here privately.
