Publishing & Reviewing Error Message

Sep 15, 2015

Hi Guys,

I've recently noticed an error with in Articulate that I haven't come across before when publishing and reviewing content. When ever I attempt to export particulate modules/files I'm working on, the export is interrupted by an error message which says:

"We're sorry, somethiung went wrong with Articulate Storyline and it might close.

You can help..."

You can see the whole message in the image below.

Does anyone know why this maybe happening?

I'd just like to add that the project I'm working on is not new, it's about a month old and multiple versions have been exported before this error has become apparent, the version I'm currently working has been translated. So I'm not sure if this is a factor?

Hi, Gavin -- Sorry to hear that you are running into this issue! Can you please confirm that you're following some basic rules to prevent strange behavior:

Work on your local drive (your C: drive). Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, including file corruption, loss of audio, and other unexpected behavior.

You should also make sure the directory path to your project files and your published output is less than 260 characters (for example C:\Articulate).

Avoid using special characters, accents or symbols in your file names.

Please also try importing the file into a new file to see if you find the same behavior. And finally, if your Storyline software is not working properly, a simple repair may fix the problem.

Thanks for the feedback Christie,

I will have a look into these to see if I have any luck. One thing I will say that I didn't mention above is myself and some colleagues have noticed that the issue is absolutely random. For instance, the file might not export on my computer but when my colleague opens the exact same file and exports it works. It's a real brain scratcher, can't figure out the issue and it's not like my Articulate has corrupted or anything as I've un-installed and re-installed Articulate.

As said I will have a look into these and provide you with my feed back on how I got on.
