Publishing Spanish Storyline Quiz output fails
Jul 16, 2014
Hi there. I am publishing a number of Portuguese and Spanish (stand-alone) quizzes from Storyline (Update 5: 1401.2415) and on a particular Spanish quiz, it completes, doesn't give a fail but also doesn't give the usual dialog box for sending to FTP, creating zip, etc. All of these files (Spanish and Portuguese) are a result of exporting from English Quiz, translating them in the WORD doc, and then importing them back into SL. Has worked beautifully on most, this one is giving me fits.
And when I go into the outputfolder, it clearly has not generated all of the files - in effect failing. I tried shutting down SL, reopening the file and trying again and I get the same results. The same quiz in Portuguese format publishes just fine. Any suggestions/ideas? It clearly must be a font, character, or something in the file that it does not like. But no clear "fail" message is provided.

Hi Scott,
I'm sorry to hear about the problematic behavior with your Spanish/Portuguese courses. You'll want to check that the file name and path doesn't include any special characters, accented characters or symbols as described here. You'll also want to ensure you're publishing to a local drive as publishing to a network or shared drive could cause issues with your file.
Please let us know if you still have difficulty after checking into those items.
Hi Ashley - many thanks. I discovered it was the length of the path. Must have been up against the MS 260 character limit. I trimmed back the path name on 2 of the six files that were behaving the same way (they would not fully publish). Once I did that, bingo! Appreciate the pointers there. - Scott
Thanks for the update Scott!
