Publishing Storyline files to Screencast.com?

Oct 10, 2014

Hi, I'm using Screencast.com (http://www.screencast.com) for hosting. This works fine for straight video files and other file types like .doc and .ppt, but we want to do more robust elearning and are evaluating Storyline for this purpose. Unfortunately, I have not found a way to successfully upload and access Storyline files from this server. Ideally, I'd have all the files needed to run on the server and users would just link to story.html, but that doesn't seem to work. Currently, it seems the only thing that works is having users download the zip file and play everything locally which isn't optimal. I typically only upload self contained movie files (Camtasia output) to this server and users just play them directly without having to download anything so this may be user error but any tips as to how I can get Storyline to work with Screencast are appreciated. Purchasing a subscription to Articulate Online is not an option currently.

Thanks!

From what I have seen on the screencast website, it only supports the hosting of VIDEO formats, like Flash video, WMV, QT. I haven't seen anything about hosting HTML files, .swf,etc. which is what Storyline's published content consists of. So unless you want to publish your Storyline content, run it, record it with some recording tool and then upload that video, I doubt you can use screencast for hosting.
