Pulsating Objects

Oct 21, 2014

Hi

I have drawn some shapes on a slide and I want to make them pulsate/flash like markers can but I don't know how to do this - can any one advise if this can be done and how to do it

Thanks

Hi Mandy,

Not sure if this will help. Got the idea for these in the forums quite some time back. No animated GIFS here - just done in SL. Wasn't sure which version you're using, so this is SL1.

Slide 1 has 2 layers with a lightbulb and a star shape.
For the OFF (base) layer I've changed the lightbulb to a grayscale color using the Format Picture Recolor tool.
The star shape has a gray gradient fill

Slide Trigger for the OFF layer: show Layer ON when the timeline starts

For the ON layer, the lightbulb it at its default color and the star has a blue glow. The timeline length is only 1 second (you can experiment with various object and timeline lengths to get your desired effect).

Both objects have Fade in/Fade out Animations set to Medium

Slide 2 has only the lightbulb; different timeline length for the ON layer. Again you could experiment.

Thank you Rebecca and Gil, this works for the pulsating effect.

My question is: what if you need to click on the pulsing object which leads to another layer? My experience is that when I come back I cannot resume the pulsing effect. I tried going back to this layer, to the base layer, set layer revisit to initiate etc. Nothing works so far.
