in case the tutorial links don't get you anywhere, I updated your file (see attached). For the two complete sections (Infection Control & Health&Safety), I added triggers to the Pass layer of the Results slides and the checkmarks for those two buttons on the main menu. With that you should be able to replicate the markers for the other sections.
I'm affraid I can't get a tick to appear despite duplicating what you have done. I've tried copying and pasting every thing and then changing the names etc. I've tried adding everything from scratch, but nope no tick appears.
I love what you did and how it works but I just cant get it to work at all.
If you get a chance at anytime in the next few months could you possibly put a step by step guide together for a complete idiot. I can usualy sort things out like this but not this time.
I have been trying to tick off completion, similar to your scenario. I have been trying to work out how to get the tick to display. Can you advise what the success layer is please...I can't find it.
Do you have a Results Slide in your Story? If so, look at the Slide Layers panel on the right. This is where the Success Layer is...and it's where the trigger has been placed that sets the variable to true when the timeline starts.
Since when Learners pass they are automatically brought to this layer, the trigger is set and when they return to the main menu (via the next button), the tick mark appears.

One way to do this is:
1. Add a new "complete" state to each of the Main Menu buttons
2. Edit this state to include an icon and align the icon to the button label
3. At the end of each section, e.g. Infection Control, set a variable "InfectionControlComplete" to True
4. Back at the Main menu, add a trigger that changes the state of the Infection control button to "complete" if InfectionControlComplete equals True.
Hi Michael
Thanks for replying!
I don't know how to do any of that is there anywhere you can point me to find out how.
Thanks again
Ken
I did a very rough sample file with two options that hopefully gives you some ideas. And here is the same file to view online: http://dev.keypointlearn.com/xcl71_SL/CompleteMarkers/.
Here is some info on States: http://community.articulate.com/tutorials/products/adding-and-editing-states.aspx and triggers:
http://community.articulate.com/tutorials/products/adding-and-editing-triggers.aspx.
Hope that helps.
Absolutely brilliant Micheal I will use this in future projects.
The only thing I can't do is get the tick to appear after a quiz has been completed on another scene.
I attach a zip file of what I'm trying to do BUT please just bin it if you are too busy to look at it.
Thanks for your time so far the above example is brilliant.
Ken
Hi Ken, here is an annotated file I did a whlie back that may or may not help, there are a few examples of things in there.
Michaels example has it all in there though
I was just this minute going to ask this very question!
Thank you!!!!!!
Will give it a go.

Your BRILLIANT!
Way to go Ken, now you can work with layers, triggers and variables!
