Question counter variable

Nov 22, 2017

Hi everyone!  I am hoping that someone may be able to help me.  I have designed a 35 question quiz that pulls from a question bank with a question counter (variable) so that the user is aware of where they are in the process.  I have the question counter placed on the slide master increasing by a value of 1 each time the user clicks the submit button.  The issue I cannot seem to figure out how to fix is that if the user clicks submit without having selected an answer it prompts to select an answer before continuing but adds a value of 1... I thought that I would just add a variable to the feedback "continue" button to subtract a value of 1 from the variable when clicked but I can't figure out how to get to it?!?  Perhaps that isn't even the best way to resolve the issue.  I'm open to suggestions.

Hi Amy!

Rather than having the variable increase on clicking the submit button, try going to the question page slide master and adding a trigger that increases that variable by 1 when the timeline starts. That way every time a new question page loads, the variable increases by 1. The page doesn't reload when the feedback or prompts to answer the question show up, but does reload for every new question so it should create an accurate count?
