Question draw with one question

Sep 07, 2022

Hi

Here is a simplification of a problem I'm having on a gamified project. I wonder if it is even possible to do this on Articulate 360...

What I'm trying to do: I have a scene (Sc 1) where on some slides I put a link which the student clicks on and is then taken to a single question - a random question drawn from a question bank (QB1); after answering the question, the student is taken back to the original slide and continues the scene until the link pops up again a few slides  further on.

Problem: At the moment, when I go to the question bank for the first time, a random question is chosen, I answer it then I'm returned to the original slide (So far, all good). Unfortunately, when I do it subsequent times (all within Sc 1), I always get the same question as the one I got the first time.

So... Is there a way while in one scene to randomly jump in and out of a question bank taking a different question each time?

Or would it work better by taking the questions from their own scene (ScQs1) with randomizing variables rather than a question bank?

Thank you

Thanks for replying, John.

Just to be clear, I am not having a problem with the question banks - I just wanted to know what the limit of their features is. (My example above was just a simple way of explaining the context)

From your response, it seems that a single question bank draw is unable to draw single random questions from a bank to be distributed over a scene multiple times (and multiple draws wouldn't work either as they would risk some questions being repeated).

Knowing what I can't do is a big step forward so now I can start working on an alternative design. Many thanks

Best wishes, Mark
