Question on remediation

Oct 31, 2016

Is it possible to have remediation for individual incorrect answers? For example, if I have a multiple choice questions and answer A is correct, with answers B, C, and D being incorrect, I would like remediation when the learner clicks B and submits to be different than what they see when they click C or D and submit.

I think this could be done with separate Try Again layers, but I'm having trouble figuring out how to make this work with the Submit button...now that I'm thinking about it, maybe one Try Again layer but have hidden text boxes for each incorrect answer...?

Hi Edward!

Multiple Choice is a great example of some additional built in options you may not be aware of, such as grading based on choice and even feedback by choice, which it sounds like what you may be looking for.

You will see these options in the toolbar when viewing your question in Form View and you can customize it per line by clicking on the feedback box per choice.

Leslie - this works pretty nicely, however, with the Feedback set to "By Question," there was a Try Again layer for failed attempts, and after 2 incorrect attempts, the learner would see the "Incorrect" layer, which I edited to give them the correct answer. I liked the way that worked.

With the Feedback set to "By choice", there is no "Try Again" layer, so after two incorrect answers, when the learner clicks Continue on the 2nd incorrect answer, they're just taken to the next slide. I guess I could create a layer called "Incorrect" and change the trigger on the Continue button to show layer incorrect when the user clicks if Attempt Count is greater than or equal to 2.
