Question on Timeline player hanging up

I am wondering why I am encountering the timeline player getting hung up...e.g. I activate the play button so that I can enter cue points, and it won't play... just hangs indefinitely.
Sometimes there is a long delay but it finally starts to play...

Hi, Marybeth -- Sorry to hear of the difficulties you have encountered, but we'll see what we can do to help! :)
There are a few general troubleshooting steps we can run through first to rule out the causes of some common problems. Please make sure you are working locally as described here, and you may want to try importing the file into a new file.
If you are still having issues, you might want to try to repair Storyline. Also, could you please ensure that you are utilizing the most recent SL2 Update? Info on the latest update can be found here.
