I'm not sure if this is a glitch or something I don't know how to do, but when I apply a layout to a question slide, it accepts the background graphics and answer placement, but not the question placement. I'm assuming that the slide title area is where the question would go. It's possible that I need to insert a "question title" placeholder, but I don't see where to do that. I've uploaded a sample file that shows these specific examples, plus a few other questions. Advice appreciated! Thanks,
I've taken a look at the file you shared and I believe the issue is that you have your slide title and question placeholders a little mixed up.
The quiz questions are going to pull into the Master title placeholder. This is because they default to the top. So, you'll want to actually place this placeholder further down into the position you'd like. You'll want to put the other placeholder that contains your slide title at the top.
I've done this for you in your project. I was also able to successfully remove any layouts that weren't in use (probably too many) just to confirm they're removable. To do so, I selected a layout and clicked on the "Delete" button on the top ribbon, in the "Edit Master" portion of the menu.
I've attached the modified version of your project, just in case you want to take a look.
Actually, one more question. How do you create a layout or master that is recognized as a question master slide, rather than an ordinary slide? In the default master set that is included in every new project, there is a question slide included there, with "Click to Edit Question Title style" rather than "Click to Edit Master Title style." Is that a placeholder option we can add? Thanks again.
I would personally create a separate Master for quizzes. This will keep them separate from the other layouts that you'll want to use for your content slides.
You'll want to place the "Master Title" placeholder where you'd like your question to display - by default, the question displays along the top of the slide. If you need your logo, or any other descriptive text along the top, you'll want to add a new placeholder here.
I'd recommend reading over this tutorial, if you haven't already.
