Question types in Content Library

Jun 06, 2019

Dear community,

we really like working with the templates in Storyline. It would be a great feature if templates include "single-" AND "multiple-choice-questions". Deceptively, the slides are always called "multiple-choice", which is not correct in my opinion. If you have only one choice (shown by the round button to click) it's "single-choice". If you have more options to click (shown by the boxes)it's "multiple choice". That might appear more intuitively for the people producing in Storyline and would satisfy UX and Usability. Thanks.

Hi Claudia,

I regret that I would have to side with Articulate on this occasion.

A multiple-choice question is one where there are a number of answers to choose from, of which only one is correct. Now it is quite possible that two of the answers maybe correct, in which case one of the other answers will be something like "a and c" or, if you have five answers of which the first four are correct, the final response will be "All of the above". Either way, only one answer is selected. This is why the Radio Button style is used for multiple-choice questions.

Hi Claudia,

Thanks for reaching out and sharing your thoughts.

It sounds like you're looking for more question types. There isn't a Content Library template for every quiz question type, but you can easily apply the same design elements from one question to another.

Check out this Peek 360 video on how to do so from my colleague, Crystal.

Hi all, I'm new to articulate and am amazed that there is no drop down question type.  I have found a tutorial on how to create one but as a novice user is is beyond my ability to understand it at this stage.  I could follow it to set it up.

I'm just very surprised it's not available as standard.

I do find the feedback in eLearning Hero's very useful, so thank you all.

Cheers

Wendy

Thank you Phil and Leslie for a promtp response.

Unfortunately, neither of those quite fill my basic need which is to have a single question with a drop down showing 5 potential answers, only one of which is correct.  I understand I can change the format of the question to take advantage of what is available.  Thanks again for the information.  I'm learning as I go and find the heroes site and people very useful., Wendy

cheers, Wendy
