I'm working in Storyline on a project that asks the user to "think back" or remember a certain piece of their employment history, sort of like a flashback. I've got the harp-style flashback sound effect, but I'm kind of at a loss for ideas in creating a visual "flashback" effect. Any quick ideas? Thanks in advance!
There are several ways you can do this. If you are using SL2, you can use a slider bar timeline if you are doing a back to the past type of thing. Users would just select a point on the timeline and then have corresponding images or content set inside a TV frame or bubble caption. You can also do something similar just using a series of buttons linked to various content slides. There are a few free templates that are available with themes similar to this type of thing. Look for tabbed formats or something like that.
Thanks! Great ideas! I wanted something quick - so I used a fading light loop video that I had laying around and coupled with the flashback soundeffect it gets the job done. :)

What about a cloud caption? Or the person being in the foreground with the thought or flashback prompt in the background?
