When I add an audio clip that is 10 seconds long, I find the objects (text boxes, buttons, etc.) extend to the 50 second range. Then I have to drag each one back to the end of the audio clip. Is there a way to set the objects so they end after the audio clips. The reason this is important is I have an automatic transition to the next slide when the timeline ends. I want it to end at 10 seconds, not the 50. Thanks much.
I'm not sure I understand what's going on. If you have a objects on the timeline that start at 0 and extend for 5 seconds, then you add a 10 second audio, those clips move so that they start at 10seconds instead of 0?
The only thing I can imagine is that perhaps you're inserting audio wherever your playhead is on the timeline & that's forcing your objects out.
I've experienced something similar, although not exactly what you're describing. I just tested again to be sure I can describe it clearly
I placed 2 object on my slide
One begins at 0 seconds and stays on the slide for 5 seconds
One begins at 3 seconds and stays on the slide for 3 seconds
So, currently my timeline is 6 seconds long.
I position my playhead at 0 seconds and insert a .wav file that is 15 seconds long
Now, both of my shapes extend to the end of the timeline. That is, they don't move...they still begin at 0 and 3 seconds, but they have been automatically extended to the end of the timeline.
One workaround: By default, all objects are set to "show until end". Before adding the audio, you can click on an object on the timeline (not on the slide), or CTRL+Click on multiple objects there, then right-click, and remove the check mark from "show until end." Then when you insert the audio, the objects won't stretch extend out.
There are many feature requests out there asking Articulate to somehow fix this. For example, some users have asked that the default for objects NOT be "show until end."

Thanks for the help.
Thanks Becky for sharing a workaround and the feature request link! Have a great Friday!
My pleasure. Again, Kim, if more detailed explanations are in order, please shout out.
Thanks for the happy W/E wishes, Ashley. Right back at ya'!
