Quiz Error in IE8

Aug 12, 2014

Hi folks,

I'm new to Articulate Storyline. I've created some content and used a question bank with 12 questions.

Everything works fine in Google Chrome. But when I launch the content in IE8 (which my organisation uses mostly) there is a delay when submitting the results and not all scores are submitted (only counts 2 from 12)

Can anyone advise?

Yours,

John

Hi John and welcome to Heroes!

I'm sorry to hear about the odd behavior of your course. You mentioned that this only occurs in IE8 - have you checked to see which Flash version you're using with that browser? You'll want to confirm you have one of the recommended browsers here.

Also, are you hosting this in a web server or an LMS? If in an LMS, have you confirmed that IE8 is a browser they support as well? You may want to look at testing the course at SCORM Cloud which is an industry standard for testing SCORM content to see how it behaves there as well.

Many thanks for getting back to me so quickly Ashley.

I've got our IT department to update the Flash player...same result.

I uploaded the content to SCORM Cloud...works perfectly!

Next step suggested by IT is to upgrade IE to version IE10, but SCORM Cloud worked in IE8, so the LMS should too right?

Again Ashley, many thanks for your help, much appreciated.

Hi John,

Thanks for the update and I'm happy to hear it worked at SCORM Cloud. Do you know if your LMS is able to support IE8? Technically it should work in your LMS if it worked at SCORM Cloud in the same browser, but IE8 is a bit older of a browser. If you're able to ensure that IE10 will work with your LMS and know that the users can also update the browsers, that may be the easiest solution. I'd also recommend checking with your LMS team to see if they know of any particular issues with IE8 and if they have other suggestions for you.

Please feel free to keep us posted here!

Hi Gack,

I'm not sure what you're referring to - but there is some information here on how to work with a few design/layout elements within Storyline:

I hope that helps or narrows down what you're looking for - but if not could you offer a bit more information.
