Quiz feedback is "incorrect" when answer is correct

Apr 21, 2016

Hi guys,

I'm at a loss with this behavior, my learners cannot complete the training because they don't pass the quiz questions - when they actually answer correctly.

I got multiple complaints about this before, tested it myself and it worked OK when the answers were correct. And now SOME learners are not able to complete the training - while some can, which is even more strange.

All quiz slides are set to "Reset to initial state".

Any ideas? I don't know what to do anymore aside from remove any quizzes from the scorm files and have them in the LMS...which will deprive me of Storyline's great quizzing capabilities.

Thanks

Maya

Hi Maya,

Are you using the "review" functionality? If so, you'll need to have the slides set to 'resume saved state' so that on a revisit the users answer is still kept there and passed along to the LMS as correct.

If you're still having difficulty and not using the review function we'll want to take a look at your .story file. You can upload it here using the "add attachment" button at the bottom of the reply window.

Hi,

The slides are set to "resume saved". However, I did have some publish settings that were incorrect and that may have affected the learners' ability to complete. Not sure whether or not this had anything to do with the issue I reported re incorrect feedback for a correct answer.

I'm testing things with the LMS and will let you know in case the incorrect feedback issue persists.

Thanks

Thanks Ashley,

Another question, as I'm still struggling with getting this right.

Let's say I want my learners to be able to revisit the quiz slides, so they all have a Next and Previous button. They are also set to Resume saved. Does this setting mean that if someone goes back and changes their answer before submitting, the feedback should be correctly displayed?

Thanks

Maya

Hi Maya,

If you're allowing them to revisit the slides and adjust their answers as they have not used a "submit" button yet, then yes - the user should be able to change their answer and see the correct feedback during a review. Since it sounds like the questions are set to submit all at once instead of on the individual slides, there wouldn't be another time to see the feedback.
