Quiz in Storyline is passing a grade to the Canvas Gradebook before Submitting results

I'm trying to troubleshoot why a grade is passed to the Canvas Grade book before students submit the results.  

Each questions is worth 25 points.  After students answer the second question, 25 points are passed to Grades in Canvas.  The 25 points remain until students pass the submit the results from the results slide. 

There are 20 questions and the code looks the same for each question.    The Next Question button includes the code, "Submit interaction Multiple Choice When the user clicks....."

At the end of the quiz, if the student chooses to retake the quiz or end, then the quiz is reset.  

Any ideas of what I might be doing wrong?

Hi Kelli,

Storyline is sending data to your LMS throughout the entire course, so that explains why it's tracking how a learner responded to each individual question, and then the final results slide will send the total score. If you want to see the data as it's happening, you could enable LMS debug mode

You shared that if the learner ends the course, their score is reset. That doesn't sound like anything I'd expect, so can you share a bit more about that? How are they ending/closing the course? Have they reached the results slide at that point?  

It would also be worth testing your course in another LMS environment, such as SCORM Cloud. That would allow you to compare the behavior from your LMS to an industry standard and use the information gathered to reach out to your LMS team too.

Is there anyway to stop Storyline from sending data to Canvas until the student chooses to send their score?  I'll also try out the debug mode.

Students are allowed to retake the exam until they get the desired score.  When they click on the retake button, this trigger happens: Set Retake equal to True.  Or, they can select to close the quiz, submit their score and then they will automatically exit the course.

I'll try the debug mode and then the SCROM Cloud.  Thank you!
