Quiz not reviewing

Aug 08, 2017

Hi, I'm working on my first course in Articulate Storyline.  I have quiz questions throughout, and a single review slide at the end.  When the quiz is completed, and it shows the score and gives the option to review, I can select review and the screen advances to one of the questions.  However, it won't advance to any other question to review. On the Results Slide Properties, I have selected 'calculate results for selected questions' and then included all of the slides by ticking the include option.

I'm sure I've missed something, but I haven't been able to work out what it is.  Any ideas? Thanks!

Hi Ali,

Thank you so much for your help. As a newbie, I've used tons of YouTube and advice from eLearning Heroes to learn how to put together my bespoke session... so getting this far and not being able to troubleshoot on my own is extremely challenging! I would like the quiz review to advance through each of the quiz questions.  Right now, it goes to the first one and gets stuck. Any advice you can offer will be warmly welcomed.

Also, I set the quiz questions up so that multiple attempts are possible, and I thought that once a user got a question right, it would be read as correct. However, the final score seems to include errors in attempts.  If you have any advice about how to get the quiz to read only the final (correct) quiz question attempt, I'd love to hear it!  Thanks again for your help! -Betsy

Hey Betsy!

You're doing great so far-- and posting here when you get stuck is always helpful. We all start somewhere, and sometimes it just takes another set of eyes or a quick tip! 😄

In this case, the fact that it doesn't advance automatically to the next scene when Reviewing is something I've reported to our team as a possible software bug- so reaching out here was a great idea.

I'll let you know as soon as I have an update on this issue, but in the meantime here's how you can accomplish what you're trying to do:

  • On that question in Scene 2, click the Slide Properties button in the Layers pane. (the little gear icon)
  • Select the option for Next button to appear. (Before this, it should only have Submit button selected)
  • This will automatically create a Trigger to 'Jump to next slide when next button is clicked'. in the Triggers pane.
  • Change the link from next slide, to the next question in the next scene.
  • Then you have to copy the trigger you just created, go back into slide properties and Uncheck the Next button. (This will remove the trigger you just created), but then you can paste it back.

I've made this change to your first quiz question and attached the edited file here. You'll have to do the same steps for the last question in each scene.

Hope this helps. Good luck with the rest of your project ✨
