Quiz questions don't follow master after reset slide

Apr 05, 2017

I've found quiz questions seem to get alignment issues over time.  Choices shift right, or the question box is mis-aligned. For whatever reason, I'd like to set the questions back to follow the master.

There is a reset slide option that appears in the context menu by right-clicking the thumbnail in the scene. I have never found this option to reset a quiz question completely. Seems to work well for content slides though. This problem persists from SL1 through SL360.

The semantics of "reset slide" for a quiz question should be: re-generate the quiz question as if all the text was just re-entered.  Is there some other interpretation?

The single most effective way (I have found) to get all quiz questions to follow the master is to delete all the questions and re-enter the text. Not so bad if there are only 10 questions.  I have another course with 100 questions however.

Is this an issue other authors are experiencing? Is there some method to re-align quiz questions that I'm missing?

We have experienced the same problem. So our development strategy has been adapted so that we always define our master slides and get approval before developing our question banks composed out of +100 questions.

This issue always remind me of the Eminem song:

Look
If you had
One shot
Or one opportunity
To seize everything you ever wanted
In one moment
Would you capture it
Or just let it slip?

Starting on a new slide layout today.  When I change the question font to bold, the quiz question looks like this.  (Intentionally blurred the question text a bit.) Note how the choices overlap the question.

Reset slide does not help.  The only fix is to create a new question and enter all the text again... question, choices, correct, incorrect feedback.

Is it really so difficult for Storyline to implement a "reset slide" so the question will follow the master?
