Quiz results not registering in LMS from mobile player

Apr 01, 2016

Hi,

My course and quiz properly register with my LMS when the course is done on the desktop computer. But when the course and quiz are completed on the iPad using Safari and the mobile player, the LMS does not see the course or quiz being complete.

My settings are in the screenshots. Anyone know where the problem is?

In order for results to sync back to the LMS from the Mobile Player you need to publish in Tin Can format. Your LMS also needs to be Tin Can compatible.

If your LMS isn't Tin Can compatible then you need to uncheck 'Use Articulate Mobile Player for iOS or Android'. This means that the course will just launch in the browser and be able to talk to the LMS.

Even with HTML, using Safari in iPad, the quiz results are not stored into the LMS.

It works well in other browsers in Windows 7.

In windows 10 works in most browsers, but not in Firefox either.

Is update 12 required on Storyline 2 to fix this issue? Asking because we are using Update 11 (which seems to be the most current one). If so, when Update 12 will become available?

Hi M B!

Thanks for reaching out! I haven't seen this issue reported for Storyline 2, so you won't need to wait for a new release. And since you asked about Update 12, I don't have a timeframe for that update, but you can stay up to date with Storyline 2 releases right here.

To test your content in your LMS, you'll want to be sure you're using one of the supported browsers for Storyline 2, listed below. Firefox is not supported for HTML5.

Flash:

  • Adobe Flash Player 10.3 or later, and one of the following browsers:
  • Windows: Internet Explorer 8 and later, Microsoft Edge (latest version), Google Chrome (latest version), Firefox (latest version)
  • Mac: Safari 7 and later, Google Chrome (latest version)

HTML5:

  • Windows: Google Chrome (latest version)
  • Mac: Safari 7 and later, Google Chrome (latest version)
  • Mobile: Safari in Apple iOS 7 and later, Google Chrome (latest version) in Android OS 4.1 and later

You may also want to look at testing it in another environment such as SCORM Cloud which is an industry standard for LMS testing. You can review the directions here to help you go through that testing.
